Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC’s Grade I Breeders’ Cup Classic Gun Runner worked at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots one final time on Sunday, January 14 before the first race. Trained by Steve Asmussen, Gun Runner is a finalist for 2017 Horse Of The Year. He is scheduled to ship on Thursday, Jan. 18 for Gulfstream Park where he will make the final start of his career in the $16 million Pegasus World Cup, Gr1, on Jan. 27. Following the Pegasus World Cup, he will assume stallion duties at Three Chimneys Farm in Lexington, KY. where he will carry a $70,000 stud fee.
